Yes, Burning Man costs money. PO9 is no different. See below for shared expenses costs and payment information.

Camp dues (shared expenses) for 2026 are $450 per camper, and yes, we all pay the same (even camp leads and leadership). RVs incur an additional cost for grid connections and this is not optional since PO9 is a generator free camp. Hexayurts, Shiftpods, or any other camping situation that has a fridge/freezer or AC is required to pay a grid fee as well though slightly reduced from a full RV (fridge, freezer and AC requires contribution at a full RV rate). Shared expenses pays for the following-

  • power drop for tents and e-bike charging

  • porto pump outs (yes we have portos, at least one and maybe two)

  • shower and camp water, grey water removal (yes we have showers) Personal drinking water is not provided

  • Shady spot for your tent in tent city (10×10 typically, especially for single occupancy, but talk to Freeze if that’s a problem)

  • Use of communal kitchen (you use it you clean it. There are no kitchen staff or kitchen shifts.)

  • Camp infrastructure and annual operating costs (containers, transport, post office building expenses, and all the things)

  • Unlimited good vibes

RV Electrical - $500

RV Grid tie-in. Includes a 20A or 30A connection based on setup and needs. Yes, you can run AC during the day, no problem. Be aware that the grid is not guaranteed to be up 24/7 and there are times that we take it down for safety and/or to service it. In extremely hot conditions, we may restrict use during peak hours to avoid overloading the grid (this is rare).

Yurt/Hexayurt full electrical - $500 (freezer/AC/Fridge or any combination

This costs the same as an RV because it is basically the same load as an RV. Power costs money and these things take power. With great comfort comes great responsibility.

Shiftpod or other tent with AC or Freezer- $300

This provides the juice you need to run a small AC or freezer for your setup, but not both. If your needs are modest, but a tad bougie, this grid connection will suffice.

RV pumpout

We contract with United Site Services to pump our dumps (and greywater). If you use your RV toilet, this is highly recommended. You can make the call but we recommend getting pumped out every three days or so. Pumpouts cost about $90 and you have to buy vouchers in advance through our camp contract or take your chances trying to wave a truck down and pay their cash-only bounty.
